Let's hop on the train and get to there

Oh look what the cat dragged in - Chanel Espace, right in the beating heart of KL that is KLCC.

I made it just in time to sit in for a live demo by one of their artisans, who actually makes the stamp around the collar of each Chanel Parfum. I even got the chance to do it myself, and I swear, it is not easy!

Sophie who demonstrated is just one of the dying breed who train seven months to get the hang of the craft, and do it, apparently, by 100 bottles per hour. And that only makes up 10% of the total output. Wow can't sum up the crazy amount it will go to.

We were then brought through a sensorial journey via one of its kind, a showcase of fragrances you can try out through ceramic sticks, instead of the usual blotters. And really, the scent just evolves, quite unlike the usual affair of blotters that are so in-your-face. Going through each note, each scent, I literally felt like I went all around Paris and the outskirts of France, and then back again, Coco Chanel style. I fell in love with one of the fragrances, Beige - Gardenia came in second for me - and had it down on this ceramic souvenir they gave out to the press.

And for those who remember the time I was in Hong Kong, well, now I can finally unveil what it was for. Chanel's new Perfection Lumiere, which is going to launch in May in Malaysia nationwide, is hands down the most awesome foundation I have stumbled upon. I only ever swear by Giorgio Armani's Luminous Foundation, but this? I can say, without anyone having to pay me (yes, really), that this really gives you that effervescence - a perfect balance of glow and matte, exactly what Peter Philips wanted.
Ah Chanel! I can never get enough of it. It is this exacting quality of excellence and perfection that makes it an entire universe unto its own.
