Nice Touch

It will be Chinese New Year in a day and a mere hours away, and I feel like it is a time to reflect on the good times, good times when we can have everyone in the family together, good times when we feel it is just right to start anew, on a fresh leaf, so to speak.

I also am going to miss my sister - she is leaving next week, embarking on an entirely new journey abroad - another one bites the dust, as I would say, as she will be adjourning for Melby as well - and I am really, really, as I'd said, going to miss her. Nothing is going to be the same again, if you know what I mean. She will grow up, she will change, whether for the worse (hope not!) or the better. Change is good though, I tell myself.

Change is good.

As for me, I will be staying put here for the CNY week, and since the family won't be here, I will take this opportunity to do some good old fashioned reflection, and revisit the novel-in-progress, apart from catching up on work.

And of course, to keep that balance, to be better, to get better.

So, resolutions:

1. Work on novel.

2. Catch up on work so that I can get back on the wagon, without ever missing my deadlines again.

3. Visit Kinokuniya for some good Japanese Lit. Did I mention I am absolutely hooked on Murakami's 1Q84?
